FAQs Teeth Whitening ~ near Park Meadows Mall
Everyone wants a brighter smile…it creates a more youthful, attractive look, but is the teeth whitening process right for you? Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about teeth whitening.
Do you have any special offers for new patients?
Yes, we’re pleased to offer all of our new patients a free dental consultation, a free Oral B sonic toothbrush, and 6 months of free car washes at Waterway carwash.
How much does teeth whitening cost?
Teeth whitening costs vary, depending on whether you’re having laser teeth whitening, are purchasing a custom-fit whitening kit, or are buying touch-up gel for your kit. Please call our office for prices, (303) 993-1454.
How soon will I see results from teeth whitening?
If you choose Zoom laser teeth whitening, in just one dental visit, you’ll see immediate results. If you brighten your smile at home with custom-made teeth whitening kits, you’ll see a change after approximately three applications.
Are teeth whitening results permanent?
No, because everyday living restains your teeth. To keep your smile white, you might want to touch up once or twice a year.
Does teeth whitening hurt?
Some patients may experience a slight increase in tooth sensitivity or gum irritation during teeth whitening, but it usually disappears quickly.
Does dental insurance cover tooth whitening?
Most dental insurance plans don’t cover teeth whitening procedures or kits, but you might be able to use Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) money.
What’s the difference between teeth whitening and teeth bleaching?
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) only allows the term “bleaching” to be used when teeth can be whitened beyond their natural color. The word “whitening” can be used to designate anything that restores the surface color of a tooth by removing stains. Because “whitening” sounds better than “bleaching,” it’s often used even with products and procedures that contain bleach.
What types of stains don’t respond to traditional teeth whitening procedures or products?
If you were exposed to prescription drugs as a child, these stains are harder to correct. Also intrinsic stains (stains that form on the inside of teeth), which are typically caused by trauma, exposure to minerals, excessive fluoridation, or aging are harder to treat. Before using any whitening products or having any whitening procedures performed, consult with a cosmetic dentist for recommendations that are specific to your dental health and the condition and color of your teeth.
